What a Weekend!
Oh my Gosh!! It was a total disaster of a weekend!! My first outdoor event of the year in Stillwater turned into the storm of the century! It rained almost all day on Saturday except for the last 3 or so hours of the market. I was able to sell enough pieces to cover about half of my expenses! We left having higher hopes for Sunday. There was a terrible thunder storm that passed through that evening but everything held tight for me. Sad to say a few vendors didn't fair so well. Rick and I debated whether to set up again knowing that we would get more rain throughout the day. I decided we should stay for a bit since the weather was somewhat cooperating (it was 8am and the market would open at 11am). We started setting up and then Rick checked the radar weather forecast and we saw that there was some serious storms coming up on the west side of the cities. We made the right decision to close up shop and get the heck outta Stillwater. On our way home we watched the radar as the storms got closer and closer to the cities and Stillwater. By the sounds of it there were tornadoes that damaged homes, hail, high winds and everything else that goes with a major thunderstorm. I'm so glad we made the decision to pack up. Rick woulda killed me if we had to pack in the storm or try and ride it out. My crystal wasn't going to sell with all the clouds and I certainly didn't want to risk losing all my inventory, display set up, & canopy. All tucked in and cozy at home we watched as the storms rumbled through wreaking havoc and taking homes and lives. In the end...I gotta say a huge thank you to modern technology. If we hadn't had our phones with internet access to evaluate the weather we never would have known to get out of there. We warned a few other curious people about the incoming storms and let them make up their own minds. I hope everyone was ok. There was literally well over a hundred vendors!! In the end...it's just not worth the risk. Thank you technology! I lost money on this deal but not as much as I would have if I'd stayed in Stillwater! Let's just hope this isn't an omen to the upcoming summer events. God have mercy on me!

Regarding May 21st....
"The fact of the matter is...we are all a heartbeat away from eternity. Whether you stand before God on May 21st, or whether you stand before Him 50 years from now, is irrelevant in the scope of eternity. The important thing isn’t when you stand before God; it’s where you stand with God." - Will Graham

To all the mothers out there...Happy Mom's Day!
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom
May you always be overwhelmed by the Grace of God rather than by the cares of life

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Tree on Tree...
This is my friend and tour guide, Jupiter, from Colima, Mexico. We met this past February when he escorted us up the Snow Volcano to get a view of the smoking Fire Volcano. He has a kind and gentle spirit and we enjoyed our time with him. We stopped to take pictures and a much needed break during our climb and found a nice tree stump to use as a stand for some great pictures. I decided that I would do a "tree" yoga pose and dared Jupiter to do the same. He is such a great sport! If you are in the area of Colima, Mexico and need a place to stay he has a beautiful bed and breakfast hotel and will be a wonderful host for anything you might desire to do in the area. We're definitely going back to visit again. Thanks Jupiter! You're out of this world!
There was a deep drop off on the other side of this tree stump so I was a little apprehensive. I guess this will do!

Reminding us all to keep it light and have fun...

This Is How We Do It!!
So turning 50 has it's perks. I've been bugging Rick for a crossover SUV since I started doing my artisan craft shows. He wouldn't budge. So now...for an unknown reason, except to say that I'm turning Fabulous 50, he has decided that it might just be ok to give the ol' gal what she wants and needs. Of course, it didn't HAVE to be a luxury vehicle, but "Hey!", I've had my share of practical cars for the majority of my adult life. Now this IS a practical vehicle with a lot of luxury built into it. Soooo...I get the best of both worlds. A car that will be great for packing all my gear and supplies for shows AND the bells, whistles, & styling that I wanted! It just doesn't get any better than this folks. My beautiful husband of 31 years has spoiled me to death! He loves to spoil his girls! But then again...I think he secretly loves the car too!
Are You Prepared?
Sept 11th (NY) Jan 11th(Haiti) March 11th (Japan)........Luke 21:10 - 11 Then Jesus said to his disciples " Nation will rise against nation, Kingdom against Kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Jesus says behold I come quickly. Ask yourself...... ARE YOU PREPARED?!?
Personally...I don't wonder...I prepare.
