Our boat cruise from Westminster to the London Tower. All part of our Explorer Day on the Original London Walk Tours. Recommended as a great way to get the real history and behind-the-scenes of London. We also did the famous "Jack the Ripper" tour which was truly amazing. Walking amid buildings and roads where famous (and not so famous) people have walked for centuries!  Posted by Picasa

The famous London Eye. We didn't ride it. At 12.5 pounds apiece we saw just as much from the top of St. Paul's Cathedral for the price of the tour admission (8 pounds each). Lovely to see along the Thames river however. Posted by Picasa

St. Martin In the Fields. A church in Trafalgar Square where they hold over 350 Concerts a year and have an Award Winning Buffet Cafe in the Crypt! We had dinner with the dead in the Crypt (much to Megan's opposition-she secretly loved it however) and a Baroque Concert with a stringed orchestra and the East London Chorus! What a way to top off our visit to London. (We also saw 3 shows...Woman in Black, Scrooge the Musical, and of course, Megan's production of Our Town at the Wimbledon Theatre...Amazing!) Posted by Picasa

Picadilly Circus is a MUST SEE! Truly Unbelievable!! Posted by Picasa

Too many People everywhere you go! This is in Camden. It was a Sunday and very busy! Posted by Picasa

Getting on and off the Tube in London you are reminded to "Mind the Gap". What a great way to tour London! Posted by Picasa

World's largest square tower (at the time it was built) known as the North Tower of Westminster. Posted by Picasa

Westminster Abby. We took a tour inside and saw many famous tombs including Sir Isaac Newton, Queen Elizabeth I, King Charles, Charles Dickens, and Handel the composer, to name just a few. Posted by Picasa

Commonly referred to as "Big Ben" is really called the "Clock Tower". Big Ben is the bell inside named after a former Speaker of Parliament who was shaped like the bell when it was put in place (took 2 days and 30 men to lift it in place). Posted by Picasa

St. Paul's Cathedral was undergoing renevation so scaffolding was in front of the main entrance. A magnificent view anyway! Posted by Picasa

Just A Little Walkabout now...

If you visit London you must be sure to bring the most comfortable shoes you have. We walk, and walk, and walk! It's all soooo amazing however! And to top it off I can eat most anything I choose because I'm sure to walk off the calories. Yay! Last night we took the Jack the Ripper walking tour and it was Awesome!! Walking downtown London in the footsteps of those who lived here centuries ago. It's so hard to fathom. Today we are going on another walking tour to Buckingham Palace where we will have a look-see over the wall to see what's REALLY on the other side. We'll be sure to get pictures! Ok...I'll update more later. I've got to get going and find our way to the "Tube". It's such a great way to travel. Cheerio all!

Leavin' On a Jet Plane...

Soooo...this will be my final post for a bit. I may be able to post a few pics while we're in London but who knows if I'll find the time! Hee hee. So much to see and do. Megan had her opening night for "Our Town" tonight. "Break A Leg" Megan!! I can't wait to hear how it went. We'll be there in a short bit to celebrate the show so hold tight and keep your wits about ya. Anyone who's interested in visiting the kitties can just go ahead and do that. Just leave us a note that you were here so you will be properly thanked for the service provided. You all know how spoiled they are and how much they miss all the attention they are frequently lavished (they actuslly think they own our property and command those who live here as though we're their servants). I've got my umbrella packed because they are forcasting rain for nearly every day we're in London. I could not live there. Too dreary for me. But I will be a good sport and enjoy the sights and activities regardless of the rain. Just getting the opportunity to visit "my girl" and see how she's doing will be great.
Cheerio my friends...until we meet again.

The Best Hunter in the Forest!

I brought my Mommmy a beautiful present from the forest today! I'll give you a hint: It's small, colorful, makes a chirping sound, and has wings! Yes! You're right! I brought my Mommy a beautiful winged birdy that flew around the family room while I tried to play with it! I seriously don't know why my Mommy was screaming! It was so thoughtful of me to bring her such a lovely gift. Maybe she didn't appreciate my effort to please her. I guess I'll keep trying until I get it right.

Fall colors in our back yard. Posted by Picasa

Good day for shopping...

So today I had a hair appointment. My stylist made me look so beautiful I could not resist the urge to do some shopping fo clothes to wear while in London. The only problem was that I was sooo disappointed with the fall colors they had out there I couldn't find much. But I did manage to get a few things and they'll work with some of the clothes I already have, so I guess it kinda forced me to be a little more practical. It was fun! Haven't done that in awhile. The weather is being quite predictable in it's never-ending saga of unpredictability. I really can't believe how it can be 74 degrees Farenheit one day and only 54 the next!! Brrrrrr! It's just intolerable. Oh...I know, Mary. You love it right? Well you can have it. I want summer back! Tomorrow Alright?! Don't freeze yer tomata's folks. Ya better cover them along with your toes! No more sandals for me!
