As you can tell...this was last year when we had all the snow. Me and Kate took Major for a walk in his new snow gear. How cute is this?! Love you Major Briggs. Your booties keep your feet nice and warm and dry!

So I spent the day in my chair on the deck reading...

Then after dinner Rick and I decided to go for a spin on the beach! 

They have 20+ miles of beach you can drive on! 

We just went for a short one since it was our first time I was a bit nervous about getting stuck!

It was no problem and we had fun! 

We drove around to the other side of the lagoon and snapped a picture of the condo we're staying in. 

You can see the yellow chair I was sitting in earlier in the day! It's so calm and peaceful here! We're loving it!

God Is Here...

He whispered in my ear today...and I heard.

Today is a Beautiful Day!

Today is such a beautiful day! It's cold and blustery here but after the skies cleared a bit Rick and I decided we should go for a walk on the beach anyway. I'm so glad we did! Not only was the ocean beautiful but we got to see dolphins swimming out just a little ways from the shoreline!! On our way back to our condo, right out in front of our driveway, there were 5 of the largest raptors soaring about 30-40 feet above my head. I was hoping they weren't looking at me like I was dinner! I just stood there and watched them soar. My heart is full...it's just such a beautiful day! :)

Bless All the Little Birdies....

Lilly loves to sit by the window and watch the ducks in the lagoon. There are so many birds she'd love to have for lunch!

 Really big jellyfish we found on the beach! There are smaller blue ones too! Amazingly creepy!

I saw this bird yesterday morning right outside our condo off the deck! It's pink and white with a wide long bill. I didn't know what kind of bird it was so I "Googled" it-gotta love the google! It came up with a Roseate Spoonbill! this is a unique bird to Texas, I believe. It was so beautiful and stayed around all morning! We see different varieties of birds every day! It's always something new! I love this place!!

OMG!! Rick's new navigator worked pretty well. We made it to Texas just fine! It was a bit noisy to begin with though...then it would go into sleep mode and everything would be smoooooth sailing!

Just one more day and then a month of heaven...

I always imagined a time when Rick and I could get away from the cold for an extended period of time and be near the ocean. We're going to do it this year for the month of February. I feel quite blessed and excited about this opportunity. It comes with a lot of preparation and a bit of anxiety as we think about the long drive to Texas with 2 cats in the car! Say a prayer that we all make it in one piece! Since the condo we are staying in (#2) has room for 6 we are open to any visitors who wish to come down and get out of the cold for a bit. We plan on long walks on the beach and lots of sea food and barbecue! I've booked 2 craft shows while we are there too! Why not write off a little business expense and introduce these Texans to some Minnesota talent too?! Don't forget to call or write! Love ya all!

It's All About Family...

I was just reminiscing some of my older posts all the way back to early 2005! I've had this blog for a loooong time! So many memories stored here! It was amazing to go back in time and see how rich my life has been! Soooo full of blessings! And all of them because of my FAMILY and Good Friends!  Pictures tell the story of the past 6 years of my life with Megan in college and Jamey beginning his successful business, My business at the mall, and lots of traveling and family events! It's amazing to see how far we've all come. I can't wait to see what the next 6 years have in store. A growing family (just wishing for a grandchild), more travel, maybe retirement? Maybe new business ventures? Whatever God has in store for us I pray we follow his guidance and continue to share his love so we can all be blessed in his grace! My hope and prayer is for the year 2012 to be full of family, friends, good health, blessings, & happiness. I hope that I will walk the journey of the next year of life with all of you in my heart and in my presence. God Bless My Family and Good Friends.
